The Legend of Issie Teague
Many family trees and web sites show a man named Issie Teague as the father of our three Teague ancestors (Nancy, William Swaim, and Issac H.)
After years of research, which included my own, and contacting many Teague descendants and researchers in various lines - who also did extensive checking of their own databases and then further research - it has been found that there simply is NO Issie Teague.
It is not a nickname for any of the various Teagues who were named Isaac, Ishmael, or Israel. The man simply did not exist. Searches on various genealogy sites have started reflecting this name as a search result. When they are traced back, all are found to have originated from various undocumented family trees, and this information ends up getting added to search databases.
This doesn't mean this is PROOF of the person; it only means that the name has been added into the database after it has been extracted from various uploaded pedigrees. It is meant as a "possible" clue, not as a fact result.
I sincerely wish that this was the father of these three children. If we had that information, we all could have taken our lineage back much farther, probably many generations.
